Well I did make up for some lost time this weekend of street racing the zo6 first on friday(9/10/04) and now this 2 on the 11th. Story time again :eyes: . I was yet again trying to find a 03-04 cobra at the local cruise spot and no luck again.
As I cruise I spot a white cobra go the opposite way I see the style and realize it is only the 4.6 n/a sohc or dohc. I make a quick u-turn and chase him down. I jerk my auto at him and pace him and him revs at me. So now we need an open area. I pace him a while and can't find nothing we eventually hit a light and I smoked him hard thinking he was not on it, we keep going I think it sounds good but everyone up here in n.y. revs the snot out of there mustand when they are just cruising around so I think it should be close probably he does low 13s and I am mid to high 12s hehe. I make my u-turn and start going to the local spot he does not follow. I get pevved and chase him down and he says follow me? o.k. I will he goes into a parking lot and tells me he wants to let his friends out to race and then go to the popular spot I said no follow me to the other end and we can race there, which there is a spot for your friends to stand and watch behind us. He looks perplexed I think easy layover. So he follows me and we finally get there and we go he says you count off I said sure I counted and smoked him hard up to 70 then let off. We go loop around and come back(now alotta people there) I asked what happened he said he must have hit some oil in that lane and wanted to go again fine with me but we wait for others to run.
A 86 gn and my friends 82 mustang with 84nose and 87 rear raced. The gn walked him (R.I.P. 87 gn stolen 5/2/02).
In the mean time I get ansy and find a guy in a 79z28 stock with carb,intake, exhaust, who first said does low 13s(everyone does that here) and should be good I said sure but he wanted a car and the break leave sure no money why not, my friend will drive the car, we go and I smoked him hard about 1/8th of a mile or so like 10carlengths very slow he lied. I go back and told him it was not no low 13s he said yeah maybe high 13s I replied ok I gotta wrx that does that I'll run you with that one day.
Now the mustang comes back and we line up after burnouts I launched him hard with my friend flagging and had him by like 7 cars guess he was stock. Everyone of my friends said that the cobra and the z28 should have ran. I asked the cobra what year it was he replied 98 and has intake and exhaust so now I need to find them both again in my wrx 13.7@99.5 before computer work. Anyway sorry for long read hope it was worth it open to suggestions.
