I'm curious how other M6ers are launching and seeing the best results. I have a very new setup and trying to find out how to get the most out of it. If you guys are interested in hearing here's my setup:

-LS1 M6 Bolt-Ons(352rwhp)
-Strange 12-Bolt w/3.73
-Nitto DRs(275/35R17)
-Pro 5.0 Shifter
-McLeod Single Disk Kevlar w/ McLeod Master Cylinder
-No weight reduction
-Bilstein Suspension
-All drag suspension(LCAs, torque Arm, etc.) stock

So I was having some so-so results on the new setup. At the end of the night I did finally break into my first 1.9X 60'. I basically held the RPMs at 4K and slipped the clutch(which isn't easy on a hydraulic). Anyone with a similar setup have any suggestions?

So how do you guys do it?

Get a set of e.t streets at 15psi set your torque arm at -3 degrees pinion angle.Do a nice 10-15 second burnout pull up to line tach up to 5500-5800rpm just before green dump the clutch.Keep your foot mashed to the floor on shifts dont lift till race is over.Dont know if your drivetrain will holdup but will net best E.T. <img border="0" alt="[USA]" title="" src="graemlins/patriot.gif" />

I have a set of ET drags at 12 PSI

With the stock rear end I was doing a good burnout. Tach it up to 4000-4500 RPM's and then dump the clutch. Good for a 1.932 60' on a slippery track and stock gears.

stock gears stock 17 inch tires no burnout. Just a quick clean off. 1.96 in the LT1 M6 and 1.98 in the 02 WS6, leaving at 3500 in both cars. Slipping the clutch. Guess it dont apply to your application Mike <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Get rid of the Nittos is your best bet. Get something like ET Streets or Hoosier QTP's and you will do much better.

My launch method is to hold the RPM's at about 6500, then just drop the clutch and hammer the gas on the last yellow <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

</font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Yup <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> Only thing I do different is load the gear slightly by Releasing clutch only until there's a touch of drag on the PP. Keeps the rear happy.

With this technique you should see a 1.50ish sixty foot if.....the tires hold the power, and the clutch holds the tires....

Great responses so far guys. I know the Nittos are killing me. On top of that I have an inside hook up to get a great deal on any hoosiers I want. However as soon as I get Slicks I garentee you my Torque Arm will break. It happened to White Knight and I seem to be one step behind him as far as breaking stuff.

I just can't afford to buy rims, slicks, Torque Arm, and LCAs at this time. I'd like to get the absolute best times I can out of my current setup. Am I wrong in thinking 1.8s are achievable with my setup? I know slicks are the easy solution. But I'm a hard head <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_images/icons/tongue.gif" />

Hey Jeff, Of the McLeod's you've pulled out how are they holding up to guys who slip and guys who dump? Does the single disk kevlar hold up better to one over the other? Thanks bro.

Mike I have the same clutch as you and I don't slip when I launch. I call it a controled dump. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> I cut 1.80 60' times when I was bolt on with drag radials. I vary the launch from 3500 to 5000 rpm depending on track and weather conditions. On Friday when we were at MIR my car dead hooked with a 4500 rpm launch. The weather sucked though. I'm not going to abuse my car when I know the weather conditions won't support a new best. If I could be at the track on a -1000 DA day, I'd leave at 6000 rpm. <img border="0" alt="[evil]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" /> You need to get Lee to hook you up on some Hoosiers. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

First off, do a good burn out untill you see a lot of smoke and let off brake while still spinning and when the car spins out and then jolts forward as it grabs traction the burnout is done. then put the car in neutral and pump the clutch 4 or 5 times. pull up to the line bring rpms up to 3500 to 4500 (depends on track) and when the light drops dump clutch and as the car just starts to pull hit the gas. this has gotten me 1.7's consistently at just about any track around .My best was at NOProblem Raceway in bell rose,La where I .wo back to back 1.673 / 60 ft.'s Set up in sig

I used E.T. streets 18psi.,4,000 launch riding out clutch,stock rear,stock suspension with front sway bar removed,also had stock wheels in front.Full weight with me in it 3640.1.68 60ft.

They liked to be dumped. only oneweve pulled out and the disc was worn was mooses and he slipped his when it was a bolton car all the time. Fireballs got sold for 500 bucks after 25000 miles and hundreds of dumps <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Mike </strong></font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Mike My Torque Arm did not break it was the bolts on the tranny that came loose. Moose has been 11.04 with his stock Torque Arm. I would not worry at all about breaking it

I hogged out the holes in ta on 2 different factory ta,s.I was making 560rwhp with good tire hard leave and alot of power factory arm will fail,I put Spohn ta on corrected problem its adjustable also.

Launching: 5500 slipping the clutchout very quickly. I can move to 6000-6500 if track is prepped correctly. 5500 is on an unprepped track
