Noise from engine bay after long drive.. AC ?
I just got back from Maryland [live in NJ] and stopped for a soda on my way home.. As I started the car [ after a 4 hr drive with the AC on.. with fan setting at 2 ] and turned the AC on again, I heard a weird noise from the engine bay.. sounded like an empty soda can being kicked around [for lack of a better description ] and it went away after about 10 seconds or so...
So, I turned the AC off and heard what sounded like an air leaking [ went like.. phussssss ] ... Now each time I start/turn off the AC, I hear those noises
I'm wondering if anyone knows what might have gone bad ? Thanks..

Well I know that turning the AC off and hearing the "phusssssss" sound is normal... I just don't notice mine anymore cuz of the exhaust... . One thought on the soda can noise... my a/c fan has been known to make noise from time to time like a playing card stuck in bicycle spokes... does it sound lke it's coming more from the passenger floorboard?

yup, that would be it. I didn't do anything to fix mine, it just kinda comes and goes sporadically. It hasn't ever been enough of a nuisance for me to bother with it. Here's a check you can do to see if that's it. When you hear the noise, change the fan speed setting and see if the noise speeds up and slows down with it.
