Default blown head gasket. how can you tell?

I have a small pool of rusty water on my passenger side head, right where the top of the head meets the block every time I drive the car. about once a month. It doesn't smell like coolant, but I don't know how rain water could get there. Anyone else have this happen? Is my head gasket blown?

Have you checked your oil for coolant / water?

Using coolant?

Make sure that the coolant crossover pipe is not leaking.

ther is no coolant in the oil, it's not seeming to use any coolant, but I haven't checked the crossover pipe.

do a compresion check near the questionable area? look at your plugs? any bubbels in your coolant? do a preasur check on your cooling system make sure it's full check for drips while it's under presure

When my head gasket was bad, I had a very slight white smoke on cold starts, you could barely see it and just thought it was condensation. My coolant level would SLOWLY go down, adding a small amount every few days/weeks.

At first I thought my system was still trying to get the air bubbles out after my electric water pump install. I got the car on the dyno and my numbers were down. After the 3rd start up on the dyno, a TON of white smoke came out then. We let it cool down on the dyno and sure enough my coolant was low.

After I pulled my heads you could see the spot where it was going into the cyl. It was about 1/8" wide!

Top up the radiator when the car is cold and monitor the levels. If you put in say a pint after a week it's going somewhere.

I had a hose that leaked, make sure to check other stuff.
