Default Head and Taillight blackouts

I've heard that head light and tail light blackout render your lights useless but I think they look pretty cool. I wondered could I buy window tint maybe 50% and basically tint my lights. Is this possible or am I stupid for even thinking this. Thanks for any advice.

You may want to look at the headlight mod

That is a pretty nice mod I may do that but do you think the tint would work?

I was looking for something that wouldn't totally disable my headlights. I hadn't heard of the spray.

I guess I'll try the tint on something before I go screw up my lights and report back with the details. If it works it will be a lot cheaper than covers.

You can get AVS taillight covers from AutoZone and PepBoys for $40. If its not on the shelf, ask them to order it. It takes about 3 days to get in. I would not want to use spray-on tint on my headlights because you cant take it off at night when you need the headlights.

Here is a pic of what they look like:

I removed the AVS logos with 3M Perfect-It II

Here is a pic of what I'd like to see made:

(this picture has been altered, the single large taillight cover does not exist)

As long as there not to hard to take out when I need the lights I guess I will go with that. How bad do they actually make your headlights? Thanks for the suggestions.

Are you talking about covers or tint? Covers are easy to remove, just pull them off. Spray-on tint isnt as easy. Tinting your headlights lowers their light output. If you use tint instead of a cover, you can't take them off at night to increase light output to brighten the road. It will be like driving with dimmer lights. I dont know how dramatic it is because I have never done it. It just sounds like a bad idea to me. I'd just stick with covers or the painted headlight mod that Arachnotron suggested.
