Slighty worried
Ok here is the deal took the car for a nice 45 min ride to go grab a quick bite to eat. My brother was nagging the **** out of me to let him take the car for a ride, I say ok. The car was off for like 1 hour. He starts the car and rips *** out of the parking lot bouncing off the 6800 rpm rev limiter without letting it warm up. My question is this was the ride prior enough to keep the oil and the springs warm or am I in for some problems in the near future?

It usually takes my car about 2-3 hours to drastically cool down unless it's cold out, so 45 minutes probably wouldn't have been enough time to cool your car down too much. If you don't hear any abnormal ticking noises, just let it be. Be sure not to make a habit of this, as stiffer springs used for higher lift cams are more brittle than the stock springs. Kick your brothers *** and don't let him pull that **** again.

But for the most part the only damage that could have been done is that a valve spring would have broken (which i would have known). I just worried about the spring weakening and causing float @6500+.

If it's really bothering you that much, just take off the valve covers and visually inspect the valve springs. This should put your mind to rest. It should just take 2 hours at most.

What was your brother thinking? Taching a car that isn't his is not cool at all!. Unless the driver has said it's cool, which I don't know why they would. What did you do or say to your brother after that? Cause damn, if he did that in front of you, think about what he did on that hour long drive. Pull the valve covers and get some piece of mind.

I drove it for the first hour then i had no idea that he would do that. Aside from basically tearing him a new *******, i took his mustang and beat the ever living f^ck out of it. Ill put to you this way, his rear tires were so hot you could cook bacon on them. He wont ask to ever touch my car again

I wish i could rip the covers off, all my tools are in storage cuz im moving. I called manely and they said i should be fine since the oil wasnt completly cold. Ill find out the next time i red line it. And if there happend to be any damage done to the valves, then look like it may be time for some AFR's .

I unfortunately have a friend like that. He thinks it's funny to beat on your vehicle. (whether it's a dirtbike, car, or whatever).
I haven't let him touch any of my vehicles in the last 6 years or so.

I'm sure everything is fine, but its not just the valvesprings that I'd be worried about. If the pistons warm up too fast, they'll scuff the cylinders...but 1hr should have been fine. I'd have beat his *** for that though . I don't mind if one of my friends beats on my vehicles (because I do it too), but they have the understanding of the difference between being hard on the car and being abusive.

Your ride is good to go man. Honestly, even if the car had been off twice that amount of time, you would still be okay. You can do the visual if you want, but I wouldn't even bother. If it's running good, and you don't hear anything out of place, then your fine. If you get yourself all psyc'd up though, you're gonna drive yourself nuts imagining sounds that aren't there.
