Default Would I go 12's?

I'm new to the ls1's and I'm buying either a z28 or ss when the summer roles around. However, I'm already planning for mods. I was planning on doing a lid, some type of LT's as well as a loudmouth exhaust without the cats (I know it will be loud). With a nice set of DR's, would I be able to go 12s? Thanks in advance.

With a vert auto nope.

With a hardtop 6 speed, maybe on a good day.

My advice, just get one and find out!

Oh, and skip the loudmouth. Go get something better, Rumbler, 2OTL, magnaflow, duals, whever, just no LT + ORY + loudmouth.

LT + ORY + LM = RASP.... trust me... I've got stock manifolds and !cats and a LM... the sound quality sucks. I loved it when I first did it, but then again, I was comparing it to the stock muffler with cats. I'm lookin for something else.

In my M6 i went 12.7@108 with gears and a LM on the stock manifolds. A stall would definately get you where you want to be after you do the headers

I'll be getting my longtubes on soon and post if I like it or not. Can't wait and hope it sounds good but if it doesn't I might put a borla XR1 on or maybe sweet chambers. Good luck on your car.

An M6 LS1 with full exhaust and a lid is definately capable of 12's. Many have run mid 12's with that setup. With dr's, i don't think a good driver would have a problem hitting 12s.

12's will be easy. But be easy on that rear-end with tires (since you said you are getting those).

Err.. hate to get into this.. but it's too tempting.

You have just as good, if not better chance of getting an A4 into the 12's than you do a M6.

On a decent weather day and a few bolt-on's it's very doable.

Thank you for clearing that highly used misconception that Manuals are quicker in the 1/4, but they do trap better
