Would I go 12's?
I'm new to the ls1's and I'm buying either a z28 or ss when the summer roles around. However, I'm already planning for mods. I was planning on doing a lid, some type of LT's as well as a loudmouth exhaust without the cats (I know it will be loud). With a nice set of DR's, would I be able to go 12s? Thanks in advance.

With a vert auto nope.
With a hardtop 6 speed, maybe on a good day.
My advice, just get one and find out!
Oh, and skip the loudmouth. Go get something better, Rumbler, 2OTL, magnaflow, duals, whever, just no LT + ORY + loudmouth.

LT + ORY + LM = RASP.... trust me... I've got stock manifolds and !cats and a LM... the sound quality sucks. I loved it when I first did it, but then again, I was comparing it to the stock muffler with cats. I'm lookin for something else.

A few local guys that run a4's arein the 12's with headers, converter and tires
And I have seen a few auto go intot he 12's on a 105-106 MPH

I'll be getting my longtubes on soon and post if I like it or not. Can't wait and hope it sounds good but if it doesn't I might put a borla XR1 on or maybe sweet chambers. Good luck on your car.

An M6 LS1 with full exhaust and a lid is definately capable of 12's. Many have run mid 12's with that setup. With dr's, i don't think a good driver would have a problem hitting 12s.

You have just as good, if not better chance of getting an A4 into the 12's than you do a M6.
On a decent weather day and a few bolt-on's it's very doable.
