Default MAF screen removeing?

ok on my old mustang we also have a screen that covers the mass air flow, i noticed the ls1 screen to look a lot more restrictive then the my mustangs was.

now it was allways recomened remove the screen from the musstang maf.

do you recomend the same on the ls1?

I think you'll get mixed reviews on this one. I know several people who have done it and said +5 hp, no problems. I've heard several people who have had lots of computer troubles afterward.

I don't think it's an "absolutely do it" thing with the ls1, it'll depend who you ask.

I still haven't done it.

I don't think it will cause a problem. However, a lot of people talk about how porting the MAF is not smart because you have unmetered air going by, resulting in a lean condition.

I got a set of plastic maf ends, you can find them for around $60. I figured the screen might heat up the incoming air slightly, so maybe could cause more KR/pinging.

Well N/A I wouldn't bother but for dry nitrous, we have no choice but to remove.
