Default Cooling Question??

Its not showing any coolant in the resivoir but the radiator is full because it wont let me put any more coolant in. Also the coolant light came on then went off? Not overheating. Any suggestions???

Thanks....

You have a block or a leak?

When I check the reserve its empty. Hot or cold. Usually I see water on the gauge but its bone dry. If I had a leak in the reserve wouldnt I keep having to add coolant to the radiator? I figured that since the reserve fills up as you add coolant to the radiator that the radiator would be low as well. But its toped off. What would happen if I added coolant directly to the resrve bottle?

I have no idea what would happen if you directly added, I wouldn't unless you know exactly what would happen. It sounds like you have a block somewhere....

As a general rule of thumb, you should always add coolant via the reservior tank.

If it's low, fill it up.

You are checking the dipstick right? Not a dummy light on the dash?
