Unhappy All 8 of my spark plugs on my new motor are dripping in oil, any idea why?

Well, I'm a bit perplexed here......

I have a new forged motor/heads with only a couple thousand miles on them currently, and while swapping to a different set of heads today, my mechanic mentioned all 8 of my spark plugs came out dripping in oil.

I also have been eating oil too. I'm down two quarts on my first 3000 miles on the motor.

Being that all 8 plugs were coated, he suggested that maybe it could be bad valve seals on the heads, but also mentioned the motor/block could be bad as well (but not very likely unless the motor is overbored)

Also, I paid for comp 921 springs/retainers, etc...but on the heads there was a mix/match of retainers....and they weren't comp retainers. Also, some of the valve seats aren't even centered. Not sure what's going on...

Any suggestions/ideas?

F#ck. I'd call whoever built your motor and ask if they've ever had any issues like this. APE is a pretty good shop from what I understand. Since its within the first few k's, there should be a reasonable presumption that a material failure would be corrected. Hit them up.

Did you make sure that you put thread sealer or loctite on the rocker arm bolts? If they are ported heads, more than likely the rocker bolt hole has gone through into the intake port, so it needs to be sealed.

Mine were sealed and it was my heads. Changed heads, no more oil on plugs. BUT the rocker bolts HAVE to be sealed.

you put the locktite towards the top of the rocker arm bolt, under the bolt head where it sits on the rocker arm correct?

do you actually put any on the threads?

Can the bolts actually be seen through the intake port? Just curious.

I dont think the bolt is long enough to extrude into the port. I put thread sealer on the threads.
