Default Who Has a Vigilante 3800

Wonder what you think of the converter
Times in the 1/4
60 fts
Looseness on the street
How does it compare to the converter you had before
What gear are you running
I just boughtone and wonder how I am going to like it.
Haven't had the first drive yet.
Thanks in advance

I like the converter but thinking that I should have went a little bigger as Im not going to spray
Runs 11.7 1/4 mile
1.65 60ft spinning a little on et streets 10.5-26-15s
Drives good on the street almost like the 2800vig, I like it a lot better than the 2800
3:73 rear end

I think that I can get a little better 60 ft times adding BMR torque arm and larger tires.
You will have fun with it.

Default Thanks for all The replys

Only a couple of replys ,Just wondering if this isn't a popular size ?
I see a lot of 2800 3200 and 3600
I wanted a PT 4000 but It was just too big a hassel with Yank
I would have had to sell my sy3500 and buy it and this converter came along from
Rich Silverstreak98
He sent it to the Trans builder and the deal was done
It was Great to deal with Rich
Thanks
John

Don't these vid verters usually stall about 600 rpm higher than advertised?? What is the STR?? To you guys running these verters what kind of mph gains(if any) did you see?? I'm just trying to see how efficent they are. I know mph isn't the best way to see but it does tell you something. Because to me if you drop .8 tenths and loose 1mph that is fine for a track only car, but I run on the street mostly so efficency is what i'm looking for. If I were to only drop only .3 theths and gain 2mph i'd be very happy with that.

i love my Vig 3800.....it hit's right at 3800 for me. gained .7 in the 1/4 mile and almost .4 on my 60ft time. drives great on the street and if you keep it in drive for city driving it will lock up sooner(under 45mph)

I just put in my second Vig... the first one was a 3600 and this one is a 4000. I can tell a big difference between the two at WOT, but just crusing around there is not much difference. I have not gone to the track with the 4000 yet, but on my 3600 I was cutting 1.68's ( I think I have something wrong in my tune or torque managment is hiding in there somewhere... I should be down in the 1.58 range easy).

Well when I called, I told them what I wanted and they told me to go 3800 -4000 I told them to go 4k and they said ok.... So I guess they do. You are going to be going from a #6 pump on that 3200 to a #7 pump that flashes around 4k

Do you know how long it takes to re-stall the converter?

This is my first Vigilante and I am wondering what this # 7 pump is and is it on 3600 up converters
I never heard it mentioned on a yank TC but it is always refered to when Talking about the Vigilante

The pump # goes along with the stall speed... I was told by PI that the #7 pump stalls around 4k. A #6 pump (my old stall) stalled around 3600. The Vig 3600 commonly refered to often has the #7 pump in it

I just had a vig 3800 put in about 2 weeks ago. It took a couple days to get use to but now I love the way it drives. I can rev my engine a little while driving with out making the car jerk. Its a little loud with the cutout open but I like it. As far as gas milage, I haven't noticed any change but its too early to be sure. For performance, I have no times yet but I can feel a huge change. Plus before I had it, I couldn't break my bfg drag radials loose. I have a decent traction set-up(check sig) and now with the vig I rip a patch at least 10' by brake stalling it to 3000 and then flooring it. I really need to practice launching so I can hook. I'm sure you will like yours.

I recomend a tune also, it drives alot better after my tune from ls1speed.
