Default G5X-2 track times.

Not a very good day at the track. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="gr_sad.gif" />
I drove the car up to the track on slicks.
I didn't touch anything(no suspension adjustment,
no short belt,ect.)
I had the SES light and the 'service vehicle'
come on on the way up there.(which stayed on)
Teched and went right to the lanes.
First run pulled the wheels pretty high,
but it didn't 60' as well as I hoped.(1.56)
missed 4th.I missed 4th the next 2 times also.
I was pretty mad at this point, having spent
1200.00 on a trans rebuild last fall.
(still mid 11's@112-115 missing gears)
then the track was screwed, blew the tires off
the next 2 runs(2.20-2.40 60')
Did I mention the 20 mph headwind? <img border="0" alt="[bang head]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_banghead.gif" />
Let it sit for 30 minutes and decide to give it another shot.
Lit the tires up again but managed an
11.552@121.13(1.854)
I figured 'what the hell' one more time.
I came out @5200ish and it stuck! But bogged a little
after the launch.Hit the gears a little slow
to make sure I didn't miss and I netted
11.261@122.09(1.598)
If I knew it was going to stick,I would've came
out higher.Oh well. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
The DA was low but the headwind was a killer.
I think I may step up to a 4.56,I wasn't
hitting the 6600 rpm shift on the big end.
The car weighed 3160 when I got there and
3150 when I was pretty much out of gas.
I was hoping for 11.0's but it didn't happen today. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="gr_sad.gif" />
I have to have the car scanned to find what codes it is throwing.
The car will go 11.0's when I sort everything
out. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
I know I'm full of excuses. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
Just thought I'd let you guys know whats up. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

Great times. You know you do not have to hit the enter key at the end of each line. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

You'll get there. Nice weight. You really are a tin can. I'm a pig next to you at 3360 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
Sorry I missed it. Car wasn't ready from Hyper and I had **** to do.
I figured you paid Jeff to keep my car an extra day so I didn't put the hurtin on you <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Nice times, and stop granny shifting the thing... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_images/icons/tongue.gif" />

I'm thinking about doing some weight reduction...

Very tempting..

You will hit 10's no problem on the perfect day w/the perfect launch, and with no headwind... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Nice!

Picking up 5 mph from a cam swap is pretty awesome.

How do the weather conditions and also race weight compare to your best bolton ET?

3160 raceweight rocks, I went 122mph also but at 3550 raceweight. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I'm 70-80# heavier.
The DA was in the 300 range,ALOT better than
my bolton times(1600+)

E.W.J- which Mark?I know about 10 of them.

Rich- I did pay Jeff to keep your car,
I knew I didn't need another whoopin'! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

PSJ-I think you made slighly more power and
torque when you went 122. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

I didn't get to talk to the other racers to
see how thier MPH was,but I was hoping for
more due to being lighter than the Texas boys.
(especially with the good air)
My car is aerodynamic and I can't see the head
wind having THAT much effect.

I have somethings to iron out.(trans, suspension
settings,gear/tires,ect.)
Thanks for the responses guys!

OneBadWs6-I'm comin' for the Caddy! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Well, between the weight gain and the headwind, 122mph the first time out pretty darn good, how high were you shifting, did you try to vary that?

I found that a big headwind would cost us all about 1 mph at US41. On the rare days when I was able to get full passes out of my car I would just walk around and ask veteran racers if they were running as good as they normally do.

Also we are still racing at 700 ft above sea level.

I had the shift light @6600.
It was pretty much 6700-6900.Average of 6800.
I only had 2 full decent runs.
I need a track rental to get definetive
information, and play with a few things.

More seat time is needed.

I can't wait to see the launch pics.
I'd say 8-10 inches of air. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Congrats!!! Nice times and MPH, especially for your first time out. You'll get things ironed out and be in the 10's in no time.
