Help my trip odometer auto resets back to 000.0

Default Help my trip odometer auto resets back to 000.0
My trip odometer automatically resets itself back to 000.0 whenever it reaches 999.9 never reading over a thousand miles. Is that normal on a 2000 Trans Am, or is it a computer problem please let me know i was relying on this odometer to indictae when i need to change my oil every 3000 miles

open for any replys or trouble shooting thanks

i was just wondering because my 1998 firebird's odometer read over 1000 miles thats how i kept track of my oil changes.

1000 miles is the limit unfortunately. Stupid...yes.
