Exactly. There could be some weight differences in the converters, but the difference would be 1-2hp I think due to that, assuming that is even in the right direction. Now maybe the lockup in the yank isn't working right. You should log RPM and speed, use a gear calculator and measure if there is any slip when locked.... should be less than 1%.

A few questions. Did you disconnect the battery after the converter swap? If you did, how many miles did you have on the car before you dynoed the new converter? Cars with ported MAFs, non-stock injectors, or other tuning changes often need 50 miles or more before their long term fuel trims stabilize the air/fuel ratio. You could be running way lean on the dyno. Put some miles on your combo and re-dyno. If it's still low, look for other problems. It's not the converter.

I dont have stock injectors,or stock MAF,The verter install with bat disconnected was a couple of months ago.But I did reflash my pcm before I went to the dyno and put about 15miles on it on the way there.I want my tuner to save my work with HP Tuner for starting issues only and Have him work from there.I cant see any loss of power with the verter locked.I am @ 12.9 to 13.0 A/F on the dyno @ wot.But what you are saying is that maybe wrong?
Thanks...Scott

Sorry to go off track but Pro Mouse I was wondering where you get your dyno tuning done in MI?? And about the verter it is hard to believe that you would lose that much hp from one aftermarket verter to another......stock to aftermarket 20hp loss is normal

Alright... locked vs. locked, then there is something wrong with the lockup or the motor just ran different after the converter. Again, if I were you, I'd log rpm/gear/speed and compare to a gear calculator, with the converter locked. If you don't see 99+%, you've got a bad lockup clutch.
