Default Break in period

Does anyone make gears that don't have to go through a 500 mile break-in period?

The card that came with my Strange 12-bolt reads:
Break-in: No harsh acceleration
Drive 50 mi- cool down 1/2 hour
Repeat for total of 250 miles
First lube change at 1,000 miles
Remove cover, clean-out inside
2 Qts. Gear oil (Non-synthetic)
1 bottle GM additive
So they expect you to, theoretically, spend all day breaking it in

That's a bit of overkill, but I would avoid the track for at least 250 miles
