MTI 5.3 Stg IIe and G1 cam on a C5/6spd
Looking for advice/recommendations/experience with MTI 5.3 Stg IIe heads and their G1 cam. Things like RWTQ, idle, quality. I have a 2001 C5/6spd with a Vararam and LG-Pros...
Any help would be appreciated....

I heard that a 01 Z06 with bolt ons and stock heads pulled a 415rwhp. The graphed looked "nice." So you figure with the extra compression and better flowing heads you'd get more than that I'm going to guess 430-435. If you get it on a 114 it will drive like stock with programming on a 112 it will be fine as well but alot more lope at idle.
Hope that helps. Its the cam I'm going to go with, with stock LS6 heads.

I will make this short MTI ROCKS.
Give David or Wayne a call.
I have yet to see any MTI H/C car make less than 420 rwhp.
Jayson is bar none the Master of LS1'S.
I have seen alot of shops come an go, MTI just keeps growing.

I have MTI LS1 Stage 2E heads, MTI C2 cam with underdrive pulley, Kooks LT's with x-pipe and hi-flow cats, and blackwing intake. All installed and conservatively street tuned at MTI. 417rwhp and 395 trq on a 90 degree day. See dyno chart below. The G1 is a more powerful cam by about 10-15hp.

It was your sound file that actually got me looking at MTI. I had already made my mind to do the AFRs and their 224/228 cam but decided to research one more option. If I can get them to spread the lsa to 114 or 115, on the G1, I will probably go that way... I have Corsa Touring mufflers so I am hoping they will tone down the idle to something I can live with...
Thanks for post...

MTI can get the LSA you want. One of the locals got the G1 for his procharged vette and got a 114-115 lsa so it would work well with the SC.
If you are not supercharged I would stick to the 12lsa. Better under the curve power for the street and moree lope for that cool sound.

Good info... Actually I am a little older than most here and my lopey idle days are behind me. I talked with Wayne at MTI and he said I could get 114-115 on the lsa and have 4 degrees advance ground into it to bring the power curve back down the rpm range. Hopefully my Corsa Touring mufflers and a high idle (900rpm) will smooth out the the idle....
Thanks again...

Man its nice to know there are some older guys that love these cars. I`m 36 going to be 37 soon. I have a few friends that just don`t understand my passion for a LS1, or the money I spend!! By the way, you can see in Sig I went with the X1 on 112 lobe and love it. Jayson at MTI tuned her and she runs awsome. The sound is badass!!! I`m safely tuned for the spray and love it!! And with A4 and 12-bolt!
