Default LS6 Oil Pump with LS1 Pickup Tube

Cam this combo work? The LS1 oil pickup, at least the one on my C5, has only one bolt that connects to the oil pump. As long as the o-ring seats firmly in the pump, will it be alright? TIA.

The oil pickup tube does make a nice snug fit into the o-ring of the oil pump, so I feel a lot better. The single bolt on the pickup tube does hold the tube to the pump pretty sturdy.

IF the oil pumps are the same, why do people suggest that you change the oild pump if/when you do a cam swap? If they are the same then why change it from an LS1 to an LS6 pump, can someone clearify this for me please?

LS6 pumps from a vendor like tsp are ported and give you more oil pressure. It's just extra insurance when turning high rpms.

when you have an oppertunity to take the pump off you should have it blueprinted. this involves a machinig operation. this is a service that we offer.

we can also shim the bypass if you are going to add a oil cooler kit.

idon't know the cost offhand around $70,00 exchange.

Maybe they don't manufacture the LS1 oil pump anymore. I put an LS6 oil pump in my LS1 and it runs like a champ .

TPiS/Myron post above is a valid alternative to buying a new off-the-shelf pump. You'll know it's righteous when you bolt it on.

I saw his stuff at the National F-Body Motorsports Event this past Summer at Indy Raceway Park, they know what they're doing with the LS1 & LT1.
