You only have 10 more horsepower but 800 more pounds of steel.
Outcome as expected.
Put some bolt ons to it.
You can get a FULL exhuast (headers back) for like $250. Dirt cheap. Get an intake upgrade and it'd at least be respectible. And it would SMOKE a n/a civic.

uh....what engine do you have? is it the Lb9 or L03. If you have the L03, you deserved to lose and should be grateful it wasn't worse. Those things are SLOW, but yea, bolt on will help out anything, especially a TBI motor if that is, in fact, what you have.

ive got na LO3 in my firebird convertible but i can honestly say this thing was made for reliablilty reasons...people today have the wrong aspect of TBI and what plans GM had for it...1st off GM put the worst heads "swirl port" to be exact they flow like crap. 2nd is the cam...gm put a i believe 336 lift on the stock LO3 cam so how much air can this engine flow? next is the exhaust manifold more restricitive then a virgin and lastly is the crappy PCM that all this has to function with....of course GM at the time had 2 other motors making "big power" which was the tuned port motors. Now if GM's 305tpi with better cam, better heads, less restricitive exhaust and better design all together lost to a shitty designed TBI motor....how would this look on paper? figure it out LO3 crappy cam, low flow heads, restricive exhaust, barely tuneable PCM made 170hp and 255tq.....compared to 305TPI(LB9) 215hp 270tq better cam, better heads, better manifolds and better fuel managment system all together....now if the TBI motor had all these better options who do u think will win the 1/4 race something to think about huh?
