Default TR224 vs FM F2

The only difference between the TR224 112LSA and FM F2 112 is the lift. The TR224 has .563 vs the Futural Motorsports which has .586. I know everyone likes the TR224 cam, so my question is how different is the FM cam with the higher lift in terms of hp gains and drivability issues?

Thunder has Comp grind their cams with Thunder's specific lobes somewhere close to the XE-R lobe. Futural used Cam motion grinds so they are different in those respects. As far as power on stock heads it won't make a bit of difference using either cam. Now if you have a set of heads that can flow the extra lift of the FM2 then you might make a tad more power over the TR224. All of that aside they will be so identical it's scary.

So there's no point in getting the higher lift cam on stock heads. I'd be running it on stock heads for sure since I never plan on getting ported heads. Thanks for the heads up

It seems the stock LS1 heads usually stall around .550 lift and after that the incoming air charge becomes turbulent. If you never plan on changing your heads I would go with the best priced version of the 224 cam.
