i dont know why it would be any different then the ls6 block because to get a 5.3 you just need a smaller stroke same bore

Bore size on the 5.3l is 96.0mm (3.780") while the 5.7l bore is 99.0mm (3.898"). Both engines share the same crankshaft stroke. I've only heard some downstream info on the upcoming aluminum 5.3l blocks. It will have the DOD technology (displacement on demand) and perhaps share the LS6 head casting with a smaller valve and chamber.
Anyone with more info please post.

They were first to arrive in the SSR. Other than that I don't know for sure if they were used in any other application.
