Default my tr 224/224 cam dyno tune numbers

ok, i finally tuned my car today after 8 months on driving around on stock tune. i have been very skeptical about the results of this cam on different cars on stock heads and basically all bolt ons. it finally got strapped down today and my first pull was 334 rwhp and 337 ft/lbs of torque which is awkward and truely shocked me to dyno so low. before the cam i dynoed 328 rwhp so after the ls6 intake, cam, true duals, asp pulley, i had only gained 6rwhp and like 4ft/lbs. after going through different adjustments we found out that the a/f was at 14.5 which is insanely lean.
second pull was done after the a/f was corrected and it put down 344 rwhp with 349ft/lbs.
third pulled was done with more adjustments on the a/f ratio and some timing and it rewarded us with 354 rwhp and 355 ft/lbs.
the a/f was at a safe 13.5 so the only thing left to do was to advance more timing and it netted 360 rwhp and 365 ft/lbs.
after playing with the timing, the final pull was with less timing instead of more and it netted a best of 363 rwhp and 368 ft/lbs of torque.
after it was all said and done i gained almost 30 rwhp and 31 ft/lbs of torque.
i was actually expecting more rwhp to say the least, but i never expected my tq to be on top of the hp. the car definetely has more pull in each gear. the only thing left is a ported tb which should aid me in gaining another 4-5 rwhp.
thanks alot rev extreme, thanks jeremy and dan.

I think it is interesting that your SS dynoed exactly what mine did with the same mods. I had been considering going to that cam also but I guess I may need to consider something a little larger. I do think you might benefit by going to 12.7.

i think it would be higher in the 12:1 range but only one way to find out

also, wonder what the stock cam would yno at with the a/f set at optimum?

i dont know why he set the a/f to 13.5. i asked him and he said that it was the perfect a/f and that it was a flat 13.5 across the board. my torque is basically neck to neck with my hp across the boards. the thing i do like about this cam is that it isnt the type of cam that dynos fifty hp over your tq. i like how the tq and hp are balanced.

Thats not too bad. Where are you shifting at? Headers, a throttle body and less a/f should get you to 385 no problem and possibly even 390.

your numbers probably would have been equal at about 12.5/.8 and it would have been a little better a/f. they say it adds a point of a/f to the street...so at 13.5 on the street you are gonna be at a higher a/f than desireable...just something to think about...

I would have it brought down to 12 to 1.... my car made 373/373 with a locked converter. You should be seeing a good 20 hp more. IMO

not meant as a let down but just postin my results....im untuned yet and i put down 385rwhp and 375rwtq running abit lean, 13.9-14.0 across the board...i have the same cam and same set up as you with exception, i have a ported throttle and 3.5"exhaust....this cam is very capable of makin good power in the 390's...it made 390 in my friends car before i bought it off him and that was also untuned on his car....good luck non-the less!!

very impressive. each car is different i guess. also your 3.5exhaust could be the difference along with the yella terras.ported tb is good for another 5-7rwhp.
i guess this is one of those " take it to the track" cars. ive seen cars with low dyno numbers and great track results. if i am able to go low twelves and i know that everthing is right.
