WS9 has nothing to do with OEM or from the factory.

WS6 is stock . . . .

The WS9 hood is made by US Exotics. Roger is a great guy to deal with as I had gotten an outlaw hood from him when I had my T/A. His hoods are made from handlaid fiberglass which is stronger than traditional fiberglass hoods. When I had the accident with the T/A, his hood was all intact!! I would get another hood from him, but I just picked up a 2000 NBM camaro and I will get the hood from VFN since Roger doesn't make a hood of that height for the camaro. Or maybe he can with a simple phone call.............

I was in an accident, that justified me getting it. Its a lighter than the factory WS6 so thats a plus. My car has all bolt ons and a cam so its not much more I can do besides get heads.

How light is it compared to the factory ws6 hood, or even the regular trans-am hood? I didn't realize i was going to be shedding weight when i bought it, but i guess thats just another advantage.

I talked to Roger yesterday actually. I am going to get the Superhawk hood made for me and pick it up in roughly a week. He said the WS9 hood is half the weight of the original WS6 hood. I think he said around 35lbs.

Im not sure why he wasnt offering the Superhawk hood to you when you were looking. He does not advertise it for sale because there are a couple of modifications you have to do to make it fit correctly. The advertised hoods(WS9 & outlaws) are direct bolton replacements and the superhawk takes some adjusting of the fenders and latch to make it work. He said that is why he doesnt advertise it. He was up front with me about the adjustments but I had to have the superhawk hood instead of the WS9. I just like the look of the superhawk better.
