Default What would you do? decisions decisions....

Ok...so I have the opportunity to pick up some Comp 921's for $250, but they've been ran a few passes and for 500 easy miles. That includes a set of hardened pushrods that were used with them. Or get PP Gold duals and hardened pushrods for $360 brand new. Since both springs are pretty much top notch...are the 921's that much better to make the 500 miles not matter? Or is it better to just get the springs brand new? I'm usually not one to go cheaper with such an important part, but 921's are a great spring. To be able to get them for $250 is a steal. What do you ppl think?

I've been weighing those facts all along. PP golds are great springs. 921's are great as well. I'm just curious how much wear is incurred from 500 miles of use. They were properly heat cycled, he knows what he's doin.

You know Golds are awesome springs, but 921's are real solid as well. Spring life may be an issue. If they were cycled the right away, with the same amount of cooling and heating, then I say you're good to go.

He wasn't running a Solid motor, but I don't know the exact specs of his cam. Nothing earth shattering tho. I'd say maybe in the neighborhood of a G5X3 or less.

Get the new Patriot golds imo. Then you know for sure they were broken in properly.

New springs are nice to have of course, but ask yourself this: Would you take them out of your car (or even inspect them) after only 500 miles? Probably not. You said your boy know what he's doing..... so I'd take the Comp's. (That is of course if he's got a totally legit reason for taking them out. If they're comming out because he was replacing his pistons, you may want to reconsiter ) Good luck to ya!!

Nah his car got totalled. So he's sellin all his perf parts. Got a vette so he's startin all over again, since most of his bolt-on's don't transfer over.

Cappy, why you sellin your ride?

Oh, and NoseUp...I'm sure you saw, but that recent thread...they weren't even Golds that failed....lol.
