Default Polyurethane motor mount bushings installed!

What a difference, I have a 408 stroker with TREX and on the stock motor mount bushings the whole motor would shake all over the place, (shifter in the car would also shake all over) now its a lot more solid.

The install was not too hard, I had to drop the kmember and take the starter out, other than that nothing really got in the way.

How is it driving with them? A lot of vibes? My buddy has the same prob as you did but doesn't want a lot of harshness associated with the poly/solid mounts.

Well I run a 408 stroker with TREX, the engine would shake around like crazy before, now its very solid (slight shaking) but the whole car overall shakes more (Something I actually wanted).

You can see the whole car moving with the cam lope sound from outside the car, the shifter doesn't shake nearly as much, drivability is better than it was before, overall its money well spent.

Definitely a great mod. My motor doesn't move an inch!

What kind of cam do you have? Do you also have the poly trany bushings?

My TREX motor still moves, and your solid roller setup is probably a LOT bigger than my baby hydrolic cam.

You will feel a little more shake while sitting idling but while driving the car it is smooth with no vibrations. you will appreciate the mounts when you mash the throttle and your exh. doesnt hit the floor.

How does it increase drivability?

It seems like my surging happens less than it did before, I used to tach about 2k when I wanted a smooth ride, now it seems that I can drive about 1.6-1.8, I could just be imagining things though.

I am going to do poly trany mounts next, I've heard they will transfer more vibration than the motor mounts though :/

I have a pretty big stick. I only have about 1/2" clearance on the passenger side from hitting the heater box due to the valve cover spacers, and it doesn't hit. I have never tried a poly trans mount, but I would stick with the stock mount. You need some give somewhere.
