Default 4in stroke crank in a LS1 5.7 block

after sitting downn and see what i want the car to do im gona go with a stroker motor. Im new to the LS1 scene (had a LT1) I assume when u do a stroker motor in a LS1 you have to do all the same clearnacing as a LT1 or SBC rite ?

I think it depends on the crank, but my 4" Callies crank required clearencing of the block on all cylinders. If you get diamond pistons, the #8 piston should be clearenced already. Once again, APE can answer all these questions and prolly give you the best deal on a complete motor so you don't have to worry about any of it.

Like the others said before, there shouldn't be any problem w/ block intereference, but you have to watch for piston clearance for the reluctor wheel.

Double check the reluctor wheel. The windage tray might need to be spaced away from the crank. Just double and tripple check everything.

A 4.000" crank in a 5.7 aluminum block generally = notching the block. On the iron block you generally don't have to notch.

Thanks
