Default Cartek stage II-X and cam problems: help

here is the story of a freind on mine. he bought a complete set of LS6 stage II-X and the package camshaft for his 2000 corvette and also we sent the corvette PCM to Cartek and had them to program it. well after 4 months we finally got the package and we installed it in Kuwait.

the problems:

the car is darn slow, sluggish at the first gear at WOT to 5500 rpm and then the car feels strong. the other problem, the car dies sometimes on idle and when reving a load pop comes from the intake filter like a backfire noise.

things we did to fix the problem:

1- checked it with Auto Tap, the O2 sensors are not working, we replaced it with new ones.... no use

2- changed the spark plugs and cleaned the fuel injectors, no use, checked it again with Auto Tap, cylinder 5 is not working, changed the coil , it worked but now cylinder 3 is not working... so we changed all the coils.... still the same problem.

3- we thought about the mass air sensor, its working great, we changed it to G-maf and lods of stock ones ... same ****

4- also we found that the ignition timing is really down on idle ( 16.8) and we have no idea why..

is it fuel pump, or bigger injectors that the car wants.. we have no idea..

please any idea's

thanks

did you try to swap PCM's ? maybe there is something wrong with the tune..I know you need to break the security codes on the corvettes but its worth the try

Have you called Cartek?

Julio and Dave should be able to help you with any specific questions related to the package. After that, its troubleshooting 101.

It definately sounds like a bad tune to me. I'd call cartek and get the pcm reflashed. If that don't help get back with me. Good luck.
