Default My new toy

So I had my buddy drive my T/A the other day and I kinda raced him on my new (to me) bike, a 01 yamaha R1. needless to say he never had a chance. I ran it to 136mph before i lifted and he had since fallen way off the pace. Did go to the track where I managed to go into the 9.60's, which could be better but I am still figuring the bike out (shift points, clutch, controlling wheelies)

Nice kill...expected of course but I'm sure it was fun. Nice 1/4 mile run on the R1. I did not know that the 01's were that fast.

wow you should be riding for sport rider magazine with those times. the best they could run was 9.90@149 with a ZX12R and about the same with a hyabusa. the 04 R1 runs a 10.1 in the quarter with a pro rider.your speed seems about right but at a 10.6 I would beleive.

this isn't my first bike and I am not so sure this things all stock either, the guy I bought it from was into making fast bikes faster. I was cleaning it last night and pulled the fairings off noticed some little things. I am going to find out about all of it today and will keep you updated. The 1/4 time surprised the hell outta me too!!!
