Default Best TSP Cam for my application?

I plan on doing a cam swap very soon. My goals are to have around 380hp and break into the 11s . I use my car on the street allot. I was looking towards either the TSP 224R 224/224, .581/581 112lsa.
Our the 225/225, .589/589 112lsa. Which cam will be better? What other cams will be good for my goals? I plan on doing a cam only setup with bolt ons. Are my goals possible? Do I need S2 heads to acomplish these goals?

Some advice and info will be greatly appreciated.

if you want 380 hp id go ahead and go with the 228/228 112 LSA, especially since you have a automatic with a stall converter that soaks up some power....remember, with an automatic dont focus on dyno numbers since its pretty much obsolete vs. track times with proper gearing/stall speed etc......and its torque you should really be focusing on

hope this helps

Thanks for your reply. How is the tuning for this cam? There is a note in the TSP site that it is not recomended this cam for A4 cars. There is no place that will tune my car local. I plan on getting HP tuners and then find somone that will do a mail order tune. Were i could send them my mod sheet and they will send me the stuff i need to punch in the lap top. As you can tell i have no idea what is invold when doing these procedures.

^380 is optimistic with an A4.

Edit: but you can't go wrong with any of the above cams mentioned.

I don't think so, I got a Stealth II 224/220, .581/.581 116 XE-R and I'm making 404rwhp/383rwtq, cam only full bolt ons.

Well, congrats, but you don't see that too often on an A4.

The 225.225 camshaft is definately a better performing camshaft compared to the 224 cams. We've seen some really good results from them. Here's a m6 graph --->

Does the car have a verter? How much stall?

Agreed but like i said FULL bolt ons. He would need LS6 intake/ported TB/UD pulley and 380rwhp with a XE-R 224/112 (I would get it straight up, no ground advance) is very realistic.

I really like my 224 cam, but I've seen some great numbers out of the 225's.

Who make this xer cam? I plan on getting a ls6 intake. But i am not sure of a UD pulley becase i am not sure if it will function without any problems. What kind of times do you get with this cam? Are you running a cam and bolt on setup? Thanks

I was looking into that cam. How do you like it? How does it idle?

maybe you can answer some other questions first.
1. how much rwhp are you making with the mods you already have?
2. how does your car currently run at the track?
3. what tires you planning on running when you get the new cam?

xer is not a cam its a lobe type. Get the UD pulley, you wont have any probs.

That is a MTI STEALTH II cam. Idles almost as stock, but with my Hooker catback you can tell you are not stock. Only a trained ear will tell. With stock catback no difference untill you rev it in the high rpms.

Holds 400+ rwhp from 5900>>6600.

It sounds like your goals are pretty much to have a daily driver F-body that will hand a new cobra it's ****. If you're not into track racing all the time like most of these guys seem to be, I'd just go with something proven and reliable. The 224 everybodies got, and everybody likes. Heads will be a nice boost too, and most people like to do them at the same time. $$ may make that hard to do though..... I dunno, your stall and duals with the LS6 intake manifold and a 224 sould get you really close (if not into) your goal of 11's. Good luck to you either way.

Oh, and PS: Tires!!

I like drag racing allot. I want to hit the track every month. Yeah thats pretty much what my vison is. I want to get the most out of my setup. I am now debating to add s2 patriot heads. I wonder what kind of times people get with my setup with a 224 cam and heads. How fast does those cobras go? Thanks for the Encouragement

What TSP cam will give me the most optimal results? Most cams that are aggressiver have a note saying best for m6 cars. And not recomended for a4s.
