Default All Edelbrock Victor Longtube Owners: Install question...

I am confused by the y-pipe setup. I was sent 2 3.5" band clamps and 2 3" band clamps. It seems to me that I need 2 more 3.5" band clamps to complete the y-pipe.

Is this the correct y-pipe setup...as in are all the pieces in the right locations?

Looks like the right Y pipe for sure and yes it does look like you'd need two more 3.5" clamps. Or do those black extension pieces actually get welded to the header collector?

They are collector extensions that you can adjust to tune the header to your application...

Even still, why did I get 2 3" band clamps? There is only a spot for one to fit unless the other is used for clamping the Y-pipe to the I-pipe...?

Yes, that's what I think the other one is for.

You need a 3" band clamp for the driver side and a 3" band clamp for the I-pipe. The 3.5" band clamps are for the connections to the merge collector. When you put the system together you may want to invest in high temperature O2 sensor friendly RTV sealant to seal the connections.

So you used the 3.5" clamps on collector/extension joint and not on the y-pipe/entension joint?

Ok, now for anyone that has this y-pipe. Did you install it with or without the collector extensions (the black things in the picture)

you dont need those black things unless you want to get it fabbed up, the y pipe slips right onto the collectors then you bolt it. pt your 02s right after the collectors in the Y pipe.
