Manual Transmission - lou's short stick???

how do u guys make your knob screw on straight? mine ends up 90* short.i was thinking of using a lil loctite,and backing off enough to line it up straight.or cutting the threads enough to screw it on straight.help please.TIA.

The proven best way is to use a nut under the knob and with the knob in the correct position, tighten the nut. This assumes several things : you have the nut( most of the stick guys have not thought about the installaion wowes enough to include a nut) & there are enough threads to accomodate the nut and the knob( hint: a thin nut is best)

hey calhoon the only thing that sucks about this, is that when you put on the nut it will raise the knob quite a bit;therefore defeating the purpose of a SHORT stick.any other ideas anyone?

nobody????i think im gonna try the loctite.
