Head light "nipples"?Casting flash?

Head light "nipples"?Casting flash? Has anyone tried to get rid of these on the stock headlights?If so what was the outcome?Don't know if these things are hollow and would leave a hole,or solid and maybe leave a little outline when done.

I have thought about it, but if you look carefully at the aiming nibs the backsides of them "appear" to be indented, so I think if they wer to be ground off, the lens will either be very thin, or worse a little hole . . . .
Have to get a junk one and try it to see if it would go all the way through,it would look a hell of alot better w/o them
