well, if he has 300whp(fwhp=flywheel horsepower, and Im assuming he has 300 to the wheels), then he is probably going to beat you, especially from a roll. If you race him from a dig, it will be closer, but he will eventually pull on you. Good luck.

Hmm.. why would a 300fwhp (front wheel) car pull on a ~300rwhp C5?? Just a serious question here.

The SRT-4 is a few hundred pounds lighter

A Neon SRT4 weighs in the neighborhood of 2900 lbs and regular Vette around 3200 lbs. So you're talking 300 lbs difference which in a 1/4 mile is worth about .3 tenths and 3 mph.

It depends on if the Vette is a M6 or not. If so it should be a very close race as long as you know how to drive.

hmm, I thought they were a bit lighter... Oh well, I wont argue that it will be a close race.

Run em' and see what happens...

Thats what I was thinking..however aeros play into this do they not?? FWD vehicles also have traction issues... I think it should be a pretty heads up race.

It's an A4....that's good for you actually. He may trap around 108-109 but all you have to do is nail the launch and it should be very, very close. He'll have to shift 3 times so maybe he'll miss one!

Thats what i'm hoping, that he'll be a little nervous.

aerodynamics dont play that big of a role until around 100 or so...

Also, FWD does suck *** for traction... but, thats really only if you go from a dig. From a roll I would put my money on the SRT(though I really hate saying it), but from a dig, its gonna be much, much closer...

I had an srt before my gto. My best pull was 298whp & 334wtq. My car would trap 110-111mph. From a roll the vette is in trouble. From a dig he won't catch you if you shut down by 100mph or so.

If that guy really does have 300 to the ground than he should take the vette if he knows how to drive that is. I raced a vette from a dig and he had headers, exhuast and an intake. I was gaining on him the whole time until 120. I lost by a car. I think im at 270 at the ground...if that.

If he is the typical ricer, don't forget to factor in 200lbs of stereo, stickers, wings, etc.
If he ain't no ricer, then I'd say your in trouble. Better get you at least a set of nice longtubes for some insurance.

Good Luck,
Josh
