Sorry, I'm asking is there an advantage to having a LS6 ported oil pump over a LS1 oil pump. B/c I can get a new LS1 oil pump for cheap if there is no big difference.

Thanks

Are you replacing your oil pump now or are you building a motor? You have not stated why you are looking at an oil pump. Typically, people put in the ported LS6 oil pump in their car to replace the suspect LS1 oil pump when they do a cam swap. The LS1 oil pumps have been known to fail but if you do a search then you will probably find the answers to your questions. Good luck.

Bigger cams = more demand on the motor. LS6 ported oil pumps seem to fare better with the bigger cams then ls1 pumps. its just another 'peace of mind' things, like a double roller timing chain or something like that. many people upgrade them during cam swaps. i have a ported ls6 pump sittin on my floor waitin on my cam swap.

I idle at around 45 when hot and hit roughly 60 at WOT. I'm not 100% sure those are correct, just what I remember.
