Default Changing Gage Cluster help

Ok, so all my gages are srewed (long story-I pulled the needles off and didn't mark where they were, so I put it back in and they are all screwy) If I get a new gage cluster, how does the new gage cluster know where the original settings were, Fuel, Oil, Temp, Battery, oh, and mileage?
