PCM exchangeability?
I have a 03' Silverado SS with a fried PCM. The dealer replaced it under warranty. The problem is, I use LS1 Edit.
I've got limited options:
I can get the dealer another core, and send my fried PCM back to Carputing for repair.
Or, I can buy another license. Problem is my cable is full, and I would have to buy another cable.
What I would like to do, is get a fried PCM core. By a quick glance at the GM parts computer, any PCM from an 03' silverado (2wd or 4wd), 03' s-series, or 03' H2 will work. But it doesn't seem to cross reference into any other year or make/model.
Wouldn't any 99 and up PCM from an LSx engine work?
If all else fails, as soon as I get the truck home, I'll take out the new PCM they just put in there, and give it back to them as a core.
