Default Oil residue on spark plug tip and threads

I pulled my spark plugs to throw the -8s in and found that #3 had some oil residue on the electrode and threads. Where could the oil be coming from?

Valve seals or you have a oil ring going on that cylinder.

Nine Ball-"Most likely it is coming from the intake manifold. These LS1s are notorious for sucking in oil from the poorly designed PCV system. The oil ends up coating the inside of our intake manifolds and dripping down into the cylinders. The rearmost cylinders seem to collect the most oil.

I would highly recommend that all LS1 owners install an PCV oil catch-can to reduce the oil consumption inside the intake. Our sponsors AMW makes some nice ones, see here:
