Valve retainer question, those with 1.4+ springs please?
I am installing 977 springs on my car which are 1.4+" diameter springs. I have the comp cams 730 titanium retainer which is a 10 degree lock retainer for springs from 1.43"-1.50". My question is I know ls1 valve stems are 8mm which translates into .3149". I saw on comp cams website that they offer a 10 degree lock for .310" stems. This lock will work right? 49 ten thousanths is really very minimal difference.
The reason I ask this is they actually offer a retainer which is setup for the seven degree locks and some of the dimensions are slightly different. Thanks.

Why, I need reasons. It makes logical sense that this shoud work. Is there clearence issues, valve lock to stem issues or what. I know the part number for the ls1 retainer for 1.43-1.46 valve springs but need to know if the 730, which will fit this range of springs, will work with a 10 degree lock setup for 8mm+.315" valves.

the LS-1 stuff is metric..the part numbers you have are not. The LS-1 uses a radial lock..the only one Comp has is the 623-16..the olny retainer that fits your application that works with that lock is the 776-16
