QTP Headers
Just put in a set of qtp's and both sides went up without any problems whatsoever. My car is a 01 Z28 M6. Just posted this because I have read many different threads. Some saying to remove the oil plug, or oil filter, or lift the engine etc. etc. All that was removed was the stock exhaust & spark plugs. Passenger side had tons of room. The driver side went in pointed straight up just forward of the oil plug as I tilted it forward I had to slightly bend the heat shield with my finger. It took all of five seconds with my car on a lift. The coil packs were also removed but I don't think this would have changed anything. It didn't look like the header passed the top of the valve cover as I was putting it in. I didn't bolt them up as I am also doing a cam swap at the same time. Here is a pic with it in (I have a zip tie holding it up)

Damn man your car is dirty underneath! What would you say was the hardest part of the install with the QTP's. I'm looking to getting the QTP's in the future. What will the rest of your exhaust system be of? Do you have any more pics of the headers/install?

Thanks for the pic.. Those are some nice looking parts you having laying on the floor there. I installed my SLP's on ramps and jack stands over 2yrs ago. From what you described the QTP's look like a walk in the park with or with out the air tools and lift. How was the final fitment and what did you think of the quality?

The headers are 1 3/4" race style (no air or egr fittings) The quality looks outstanding to me. I did not install them yet as I am doing a cam install so I will install them last. I set them in place and looks to me that they have good clearance from every direction. Oh and the cam is a TR 224-112.

Did Anyone installing their QTP's(on a F Body) have to Remove the Heat Gaurd on the drivers side thats Above the Alternator? Thats the heat shield thats connected to the drivers side motor mount.
