Default Help! after head install car shoots to 3k rpm, then dies.

As soon as I start it, the rpm shoot to 3000 rpm for a second, then the car dies. If i give it some gas as it starts to die, the car shoots back up to 3000 rpm then idles at about 400 rpm for a few seconds, then dies. Threw a code, I cant check it though...

2 things I don't know.... One. on the pictures attatched there's two different clips that for the life of me I cant find where they go... what are they and could they make the car act like that?

two. I took off my air tubes because I dont have cats anymore... theres a tiny hose that's supposed to go to the back of the intake and I didnt hook it up because it goes to the air tubes, which i removed, could this be the problem? if so how can I fix it?

Is it still throwing a code? Did you forget to plug your maf in? Did you mess with your idle set screw? If not it's probably a vacuum leak.

check the pcv to intake hose, retorque the intake, if all else fails spray carb cleaner to check for an intake leak, and finding out what that code is couldn't hurt

Recheck all connections, see if you can verify with another LS1. Thats the easiest besides scanning. You did torque the intake in inch lbs correct?

When you take the AIR system off, you have to remove the vacume line T in the back of the intake BUT you have to hook one of the lines back up to the MAP sensor.

THATS it! I cant account for where the hose that went to the back of that "T" went.. i know one end of the T went into the manifold, but where's the the hose that goes on the other end at? I cant find it. it's a little guy..

It comes from the Pass side of the car. It sometimes falls behind the head.

Yeah, i took the intake off and found it, it was pinched in the coolant pipe and the block... i put the T in, put it all back together and same thing, idle is ok for a second, then jumps to 3k now it just stays there til i turn the car off.... this really sucks i cant even drive it like that...

i unplugged the sensor on the TB..the IAC i think it is? the one that throws a SES light and says the ASR is off when you pull it..if i pull that plug and start the car it idles where it should.. it used to die though when i unplugged that, but again if i give it some gas it goes back up to 3k rpm..i dont understand.. how can i even take it down to get it tuned if it wont go below 3k rpm.
