Default high idle on cold start

when i satrt my car it idles at ~1000 rpm, and it doesnt drop off untill the engine is fully heated up. it has been alot cooler then usual down here in florida, and that might be whats causing it. my car has been running alot better lately, except for this one little problem. i popped the hood after i started her up and the tb is fully closed (the tabs are against eachother.) and i was wondering what else i could do to check this problem out, besides a tune as i want to hold off untill i get a cam.

Don't worry about it. That's perfectly normal since your car was used to hot air most of the times. It runs better now because it's getting more cold (denser) air so eventually it will re-learn the idle.

If it's too annoying for you, just reset the PCM and take it easy on the first 200 miles or so.

There is an idle RPM vs ECT table that jacks up the
idle as the engine gets colder.
