Default Traction control ?????

OK something that baffles me.

I do not have Nw9 traction control option, whowever, on wet pavement or excessive spin I get an idiot light on console that tells me "LOSS OF TRACTION", what does this mean?? Is there a traction control after all??

If so how can I dissable that, besides tuning? Like physically.
Thanks

that just means your ABS is "locking" up. it does it when youre trying to stop right? ive done it a few times, once in wet weather, the other slamming on my brakes after someone pulled out in front of me on the highway. i dont know how to disable that. is this happening to you often? could be a sign your brakes are out of whack.

Ah so! has to do with ABS and not TC. I get it, makes sense. Thanks for the reply.

Mine comes on everytime I hit the brakes after running the 1/4. I dont hit my brakes hard either. Also when im trying to stop sometimes if feels like the peddle is kicking my foot yet my abs isnt kicking in. Not sure whats going on. If I push it to the floor however the abs does seem to kick in.

Very interesting. I had been curious/confused about this issue as well.

*NOTE* I browse new threads here at LS1tech because I'm hoping to stumble upon new or interesting information. I am both entertained and educated when I do so. By casually browsing this thread (and others) I have the oportunity to learn something new. So this is why I don't understand why people are so insistent about telling people to search (I also think some people prefer the real-time interaction that they get with a new thread).

Searching is invaluable but new posts have their value as well. And to the new guys, all of this stuff is new. Nuff said.

It means that you might need new rotors. Maybe you should check that.

If you have more than about a 10% tire circumference
difference front-rear on an F-body you will annoy the ABS.

True, the first time i put my ET's and drove to the track, ABS light came on and freaked me out. I found out it is all about what Jimmyblue said.

It has been my experience that people like to have a response to their specific question. If you ask someone a question in person do they tell you to go look it up in a book? Sometimes the search is helpful but sometimes it's nice to have someone respond to your question.

Thats just it, we are not face to face. Would you rather have me copy-and-paste someone elese's solution or show you where it is? Maybe I should just copy-and-paste the entire thread into a post as a response. I am not telling them to look it up in a book. I am giving them the book open to the page with my finger pointing to the section with the answers.

Somtimes I actually dont know the answer. I do a search (here and sometimes on Google too) and post my findings for the person asking the question. Maybe I am wasting my time trying to help. Sorry for the inconvienience.

VIP1, I wasn't directing my response at you. I was trying to offer some perspective on the 'search vs post a new thread' quandry.

I'll make one last comment- I'm sure that as the newer guys get smarter, they pick up the slack answering the more mundane questions that the veterans are bored with. That's kinda cool too.

I suppose my 17 front and 18 back could be contributing then. Ill also check the rotors.
Thanks

Not neccessarily. Its the overall height, the actuall height of the tires, that matters.
