Default Supercharged Mustang Take Down!

A friend of mine got a 2002 Mustang Gt with a S-trim on it.. We too our cars to the Track a week ago made about 4 passes at each other... I took him every time in my '98 Trans Am (basically stock).. Closest run we had was my 13.40 to his 13.46 but after that run he couldn't get back in to the 13's while i was running any where from 13.4-13.6... I'd say over all it was a good night!

That seems to be about right when it comes to an aftermarket supercharged Stang. I don't know what the deal is, but they just don't seem to reliably get all of the power they should have to the ground. From the ones I've seen, a few were pretty fast, but most ran a pretty large range of times from high 12s to high 13s during the same day.

Guess that's the difference between a car that uses an aftermarket supercharger and one that was designed for a supercharger from the get-go (like the '03-'04 Cobras).

Nice kill though!

nice kill man what mods does he have other than the S/C? how many psi is the S-trim making? is it an auto? sounds like some horrible times for a FI car, even if it is a 281

good runs on your part though

I'm not exactaly sure on what mods other than the Supercharger are but i know he has other mods(beside for full exhaust)... Its a 5 spd and If i'm not mistake he said he was running 12psi of boost... Also he was hooking much better than me, but not for long cause i got some nitto's on the way..

12psi on an 02 GT should be putting down some very respectable numbers. Something's definitely not right if you say he was hooking better than you.

something is wrong with the stang.. with his mods and that much boost, he should have put some cars on you easily...

just had a blown stang dyno at the shop and made 450 rwhp with 12 lbs of boost... that is DEFINATELY enough to blow your doors off

Nice kill,

At the time on 10psi in my auto I made 393/392 (other mods also). I would do low 12s spinnin.

BTW with just an S trim he would be gettin about 8psi.

That's hilarious, i wonder how a (basically) stock LS1, would run against a 03 Cobra...

as stated... the LS1 would lose everytime

I think you guys are right for the most part.. I think 12 psi is just him talking when in all reality its probably more like 6-8 psi.. Either way the car does have some potential but i can't really see it get much lower than mid 13s for the simple fact that his trap speed stayed pretty consistent but his times just got worse. But I guess you cant rule out driver error.. Either way its winter time and next time he see's my ls1 it wont be as stock.

Even 6-8psi should be mid to upper 12's IMO. Lightly modded GT's hit mid 13's...

I've seen N/A bolt-on GTs runnin better times than that...its either the driver or he bought an electric s/c off ebay for $200.
