BBK 80mm TB, any problems out of it?

Default BBK 80mm TB, any problems out of it?

ive got an ls1 intake right now, wanna get ls6, guy on here is selling ls6 with bbk 80 mm that was port matched by fms, just wanna know if the bbk is a good tb or what. there was also another selling stock ported tb with ls6 intake.im doing heads and cam should the one with the 80 mm be better for me?

I agree. I do know one guy whose TB blade cracked on him on his bbk. If it would have broken, that could have been big probs.

it cracked on him?! damn, im leaning towards the bbk one cause fms ported it and everything and he gained 5 rwhp and i dont have to worry about shipping and stuff on it cause he is local. is the cracked throttle blade a common problem? how could that happen?

I bought a used BBK 80mm unit a couple of years ago. Out of the blue while driving ~30mph between stoplights my throttle died on me. Push it into a parking lot to find that the blade arm broke off. I don't recall which pieces I lost, but the rest are in one of my many spare parts boxes

so like i said is this a common problem? should i go with the ported tb on the intake instead or what?

I dont know if its a common problem. This guy i know started having idle problems, brought it to Geoff @ Thunder to get his tuning checked, and after tweaking it with no success Geoff took a look at the blade and saw it had a hairline crack. I know they did replace it for free with no problems.
