Ls1's Are Faster Than Lt1's

* Stock LS1 produces (oficially) 305hp (1998 base) up to 330hp (2002 Firehawk).
* Stock LT1 produces 275hp (1993 base) - 305hp (1997 SS?).
I am not completely certain on the LT1 figures/dates though, but I do remember their official ratings being between 275hp and 305hp.
There were also some special packages of each that are rare (345+hp), but those (listed above) are the stock figures.
So...the LS1 is faster than the LT1 (comparing stock to stock).
Many LS1s put down over 290HP at the Rear Wheels (some 300+hp) which means that the "Official" rating is low (they are underrated).

You are correct of the base of 305hp, but the 02 Firehawk had 345hp.
As mentioned, the LS1 is very underrated. My SS is rated at 340hp at the crank, yet I put 303.5 to the wheels bone stock which is appx 367hp at the crank.
LT1 vs LS1... the LS1 is faster/quicker.

As said above the LS1's are underated, whereas the LT1 were pretty much right on. My stock '97 dynoed at 244rwhp which I've heard is good for an LT1. I do know that my bone stock '01 was noticably faster than my '97 with headers, catback and a K&N CAI.

This is where I tend to disagree with a lot of LS1 folks. how can you say 13.3 -> 14.1 ??
Most of my friends that have A4 3:23 powered LS1s have run 13.5 @ 103mph My car ran 14.1 @ 97mph. Obviously the LS1 is faster.. but I think the average times from the LS1 camp dip towards the 12s more and more everyday. (which I dont believe is true)

If you are talking mod for mod (same mods) the LS1 is always going to be faster. If you're talking about any mods then of course it's anybody's game

Also, I got a win the other day in the 1/8th mile against an LT1 with headers and open cutout. Not sure what other mods he had. I have 4.10's and nittos. We were even off the line, but by the time I hit 3rd gear I pulled away from him hard.
LT1- Headers/Open Cutout - Other mods unknown
2.1 60'
9.3 ET
79MPH
98 LS1- 4.10's/Nittos/Lid/Flowmaster Catback/Spec Stage 3
2.1 60' - Came off idle that run
8.7
