Nervous about race This guy with a stock 1998 trans am wants to race me and i dont know if its a manual or not. I have a LT-1 WS6, he is wanting to bet money.....what do you guys think?

well, i raced a stock trans am auto (im auto as well) and i beat him by about 1-11/2 cars, soooo if they r both stock, im sure you have heard this, but he will beat u the farther u go, ls1>lt1 up top (stock that is)

Stock as in you know it's stock, or stock as in he says
it's stock but it has a converter, Nittos and a bottle in

Depends on how far you race... if you race from a roll or a full 1/4 mile, stock for stock you'll lose if he's any kind of a decent driver.
From a dig you just may get the jump on him, but after the first 60', he'll be gaining ground on you from that point on.

yeah another vote not to race for money...he should win by a considerable margin if it is manual you have a chance that he cannot drive...even if he is not all that good at driving he should still take you...he has a 25+hp advantage...good luck though on whatever you decide

Yeah thats cool i dont think imma race for money. I just wasnt sure how a Lt WS6 stood up to a Trans Am. Thanks for the imput i supose i will race him but i have been hearing some messed up stuff he does to win....such as last week he was racing someone and they started pulling on him around 100 mph and he like taped the back of their car and they slid alittle and let off the gas and he won.

I cant wait for may!!! after graduation i am gettin a new car!!! I still havent made my mind up, eith an 02 camaro SS, 02 WS6, 02 Corvette...hmm idk. Also i have been hearing some good things bout the new 05 GTO so maybe thats an option 400 hp would be nice

story doesnt make sense, the other car is pulling away and he bumped there bumper how? all i can see him doing is going over at them but then he would hit the quarter panel.
