Default Quick 1998 Ls1 Block Question?

Besides the .005 max hone thing, Is there any other difference between a 98 block and a newer ls1 block? Is there any other changes to the block strength or anything like that, like mains or oiling? Are the oiling improvements just to do with the oil pump?Did a search and could'nt find these questions. Thanks for any input.

I've been told that some of the main webbing is slightly different and that's about it. Sort of like the ZO6 block supposedly to reduce pumping loss'. I think you'd have to do a side-by-side eyeball comparison to see it.

LS1 blocks are all the same except for the thin liners on the 97-98s. LS6 blocks from 01 and up are different structurally/material/process etc.

I went to 3.905 bore on my 98 block without any issues so far. thats .007"..alot of other people have done it also..FWIW.
