man i got busted out here in cali for having no muffler.also shortdog has a very valid point GMMG is WAY too expensive.true duals are rasppy as HELL(already had 'em).i LOVE the sound of the hooker,and every1 else ive talked to,who has gone thru 10+ catbacks,said that hooker is a great system.out-flow's a lot of its competitor's , as well as sounding AWESOME.basically im looking for something legal....and hooker is my #1 choice.thanks, im glad it has over-the-axle pipes,cuz i got a stock system from a '00 and the over-axle pipe doesnt work very well on my '02.Sweeet.thanks again, boy's

I have had the Hooker Cat-back on my T/A for over 60k miles and 5 years, including 3 winters with snow and salt not to mention that it rains at least 40" a year here! I just had the car up on ramps Fri to inspect the dealer's work. There is very little surface rust on the intermediate pipe and none at all behind the axle. (Except for the tips.)
I do not drive the T/A in the snow unless it starts snowing after I've left home but I drive it in the rain all the time.
If I had to give the Hooker system a rating, it would be a 10 in all catagories!

Had the Hooker for my LT1. Can't beat the price and all the materials looked excellently built and the packaging was much better than my Magnaflow. The muffler is also not steel on the outside if I recall, so it will never rust like some other mufflers if taken care of poorly.

But yea, it is two parts for the over axel thing. If not it would take god knows how long to take off the axel and put it in correctly alligned.

I have the Hooker catback. My car is the first 2 small clips on the Hooker page on LS1Sounds. The only problem I had with it were the tips sticking out so far. We cut the pipes coming from the muffler about 3" and reinstalled the tips. Looks much better now and no complaints from me.

I installed it a few weeks ago. It is very well made and everything lined up. The main issue I had was getting the Pacesetter Ypipe to behave. I may be going to a TSP catted ypipe soon. I would rather not have the smell, and I do have some rasp, but it is purely from the crappy y-pipe and merge.
