Default Mostly Stock Cars w/ Converters: INSIDE

For those with mildly modded cars (intake and exhaust work and other small things, no cams or spray or anything like that), I was curious what type of 60' times your cutting, which converter you're using, and what tires you're using. Thanks for any input on this one. I'm just trying to get a ballpark figure around what I should be doing at the track.

99 Trans Am
TCS 3200/2.5 stall
Stock 2.73 gearing
Race weight: stock + 300 lbs
Race tires: 275 Kumho (F), 255 BFG DR (R)
HAL QA1 shocks all around, QA1 springs (F), BMR springs (R)
283 RWHP/330 RWTQ unlocked on a Dynojet with the mods I have now

Best I've ever cut on 275 street tires was a 1.91 in very hot weather, and that was only once. Most of the time I see between 2.04-2.16 short times. With the BFGs I'm hoping to improve quite a bit on this, but I'm trying to get an idea of what to expect with my sorry stock gearing and my heavy raceweight. Anyone have any predictions?

my biggest mods besides my vig3200 are lid, coutout, tuning and 3.42's. no headers, bone stock suspension. My best street tire 60' was 1.805. However its very inconsistant, it could be 2.0 next run. I cannot stall it up with street tires and I usually leave the line at part throttle an roll into it. Yesterday i was in the mid 1.7 60's on nittos leaving off of 1500rpm. When I tried stalling to 2500rpm it blew the nittos away on the launch so I think its capable of a high 1.6 with ET streets.

With mods in sig and 26x11.5x17 ET Streets I was cutting 1.8's on my first time out. More left in it once I figure out how to launch on them.

Yank ST3500 Stall
BFGs

1.64 60' with traction loss on launch. Very consistant but I am having trouble getting traction. I am sure that with ET streets and a good burnout I will be 1.5x

Full bolt ons stock suspension and Kuhmo's got a miserable 2.0 60'. This was my first time to the track in a year, let alone with the TC. I'm in the process of upgrading suspension and waiting for the 17" M/T DR's to come out, hoping for a 1.7 or so.

Best 60' is 1.99 on TRUE street radials (F1 Eagles) with a stock converter, stock engine and bolt-ons. Average 60' is 2.02-2.05.

Wow, those first two posts were discouraging. LoL, some great 60' times guys. I figure I normally pull a 2.0 on street tires and have pulled a 1.91 once, so hopefully with these stickier tires, and my QA1 setup I can get well into the 1.8 range, maybe a high 1.7 (I dont hold much hope though with only a 3200 stall and my high raceweight).

Two of my friends just picked up some of the new MT Drag Radials and had great results with them. Everyone I have talked to who has these tires can't stop raving about them. My friend's 03 Cobra was running 2.1/2.0 on street tires, he's running consisitent low 1.8's on these tires. My other friend switched from the BFG Drag radials on his Grand National and is running low 1.6's on these tires, 1.62 is his best so far. He has run a best of 1.59 on MT slicks. These tires seem to stick great. I'm seriously thinking of ditching my Nitto's next year and getting a set of these.

lol

my race weight is 3700 lbs with me in the car. put some sticky tires under it, and just play with different rpm's for the launch and you'll find the sweet spot for it and be happy we you get the slip
