New LS1 Owners - Newbie Tech - how much power through your T56

in the T56 how hard is it to break the stock Main shaft?...im going into a Tranny swap and am getting a built one...and am wondering if i should get the total package...or jsut the Street/performance built one (stock main shaft)...or the ExtremeDuty/Race built one...(vipe main shaft)

i was told by a guy at FLP that he knows people who have done it with slicks...whats your take on it?...whats the highest power youhave runnin through your T56....built or not...what kinda numbers you puttin down trhought your T56 and what has bun done to it...if anything?..

I think you should be more worried about your clutch burning up.

only reason i ask is because some1 at FLP told me that if im goin to run slicks i should buy the EXTREME DUTY tranny 600-700 hp with ease...coems with viper mainshaft, viper yoke, tailshaft housing mount...bexause hes seen people brake the stock one....thats why i wonder...i would prefer to NOT haveta pay for the ULTIMATE PACKAGE DEAL...im thinking of jsut upgrading at a later-date...mayb AFTER I GET THE STROKER OR JUST B4 lol...

While you are at it, I would throw in a pilot bushing instead of the pilot bearing. When my pilot bearing crapped out, it took the main shaft with it. The bushing is one solid piece, so you don't have to worry about the bearing falling apart.
