Default Grotyhan Headers?

I am interested in getting a set of headers and know someone who is selling a set of grotyhan headers. Any advice? What type of gains will I see from these headers and headers in general?

Thanks in advance!

That style of header is generally regarded as the one that produces the most power. However, I have not seen dynos confirming this (except over SLP's which are known to be lower). Grotts no longer makes them, but Kooks and QTP both make VERY similar designed stainless headers. The Grotts are not stainless I believe. So as long as they are for a good price, go for it.

What do you think a good price would be for just the headers?

Damian, do you know if TR only sells these headers over the phone? Because I can't find them on their website. If they are on the website, can you post a link? Do they make a y-pipe to fit too? Would that y-piipe work with Kooks/QTP and vice versa? Thanks

grotts were made for Roger Groythan by a company called Tubular Automotive in Mass. When Roger disapeared, Tubular Auto was stuck with a lot of headers. I hooked up Paul and Angie from Thunder Racing with them. The "grotty" headers are now Thunder Racings own house brand header,. The End peace, Victor

Your better off getting a custom made y-pipe. Factory made y-pipes have too many alignment problems. My 3in. cost $100 made and installed.

Thumbs up

I like the QTPs, they are a quality stainless Grott design long tube.

My kooks should be here in about a week. Like LS1LT1, I think they are an incredible set of headers. Definitely go SS.

I talked to Paul @ Thunder a while back about their Grott design headers. They no longer have a fabrication company able to produce them. Apparently that hasn't changed. They can't sell items they don't have
